Clients & Past Projects

Whether I’m working directly with an author or for a publisher, my favorite editing projects involve scholarly writers who have clear research trajectories and really want to influence thinking in their fields and beyond. Clients tell me that my editing—especially on the substantive and developmental levels—elevates their manuscripts to the point where their writing is actually working for them. Their careers, their intellectual development, and their spheres of influence are never the same.

I have copyedited on a freelance basis for a handful of presses, journals, academic societies, and educational organizations. Those institutional clients include:

I got my dream job that I worked for! Because of your help, five of the six papers I sent were accepted for publication—all in major journals—and that significantly boosted my candidacy. So thank you again for all the effort you put in, and I look forward to working with you on future projects.
K. H.

I found that you really excel at offering insight on both the micro and macro levels. I enjoyed how you brought a global understanding of the text to bear on the sentence-level issues. I also admired the different editorial hats you wear for your comments . . . not simply correcting the grammar but drawing my attention to many potential problems in style and argumentation.
PhD student, RU/VH University

I so appreciated your wonderful editing.  I just loved every minute of working with you.  I felt that you gave me the best version of all the thought that I had put into the manuscript.
Associate professor, public liberal arts college

The process went so smoothly, with minimal changes to the manuscript, because of your meticulous work with me. You really helped me pace the chapters better. You introduced some key ideas that improved the manuscript. And most importantly, you gave me the confidence to send it out.
Assistant professor, private liberal arts college

You are really good at what you do. I love that you are fanatical about technical stuff but that this doesn’t prevent you from seeing the bigger picture and engaging in more content-based questions.
Associate professor, private liberal arts college

Wow, you really know your stuff! Finding you was a real treasure.

It was a pleasure to work with Tweed Editing services; Katie carefully tailored her expertise to my needs. I have already recommended her to many colleagues!
Assistant professor, public liberal arts college

Tweed Editing gave me the insight and professional help needed to make my dissertation writing process smooth. The personal communication was the best aspect.
M. B.

I just talked with one of the Oxford University Press series editors about the manuscript I submitted to them. He indicated that not only is the research strong, but also that ‘the writing is so good, it really draws the reader in.’ I was thrilled when he told me that the series editors have recommended to Oxford that the manuscript be sent out for review! Thank you for being my teammate during every step of this manuscript’s production, from proposal to the draft sent out to reviewers. Your support gave me confidence and made the entire process fun!
